CAMUS COGNAC: Bringing flavour to life through the senses

Camus Tasting, London, 19/09/2017Our Account Manager, Simrata Bhalla, describes how we brought to life the complexities and flavours of CAMUS cognac, showcasing by the science behind the senses to London’s top mixologists.

September saw us host a day of discovery with CAMUS cognac at Carousel London. Putting the French brand at the forefront of media conversation, we (re)introduced the unique style of and science behind CAMUS to a selection of London’s top bartenders and mixologists.

Beginning the half day session, guests experienced the liquid in its natural form through a tasting with Master Blender and global brand ambassador, Frédéric Dezauzier. Exploring the flavour profiles, complexities and processes used for various expressions of CAMUS, such as Borderies XO, the master class helped attendees differentiate between the liquids and maturities whilst giving them exclusive insight into the brand’s unique heritage. After lunch, a Café Gourmond dessert was also served as a nod to its French influences.

Guided by The Robin Collective, guests were then invited to apply their learnings to a series of theatrical and experimental tastings of CAMUS’ three signature serves. Truly taking each individual on a journey on the senses, we demonstrated how sensorial elements affect flavour. Brought to life through inhaling orbs, wireless headphones, mood lighting and bespoke soundstracks, we highlighted the versatility and textures of CAMUS cognac. A mixologist also served up several signatures, including a Sazerac, Sidecar and French 75.

Next year, the guests who had a taste will travel to the home of CAMUS in the Cognac region to further discover the brand and its unique heritage.
