Camilla Lambert, Account Executive, gives us the run down of how Christmas in July went for M&C Saatchi PR’s client Currys PC World. Spoiler, it was record-breaking.
Christmas in July continues to be a key date in the PR calendar to showcase key products to long lead media, ahead of the Christmas gifting period.
The theme for this year’s event was ‘The Connected Home’, showcasing how the latest products and gadgets at Currys PC World can work seamlessly together to enhance our home lives.
Through various touch points, the event demonstrated how the products work with each other, highlighting connectivity and their different roles in the house.
This year, with over 256 key products, all brands under the Dixons Carphone umbrella were incorporated– from Carphone Warehouse handsets made available to try and included in the lookbook to demos from Monqi for iD,with teamknowhow colleagues on hand and a CPCW Business office hub dedicated area at the event.
The event was brought to life through key supplier demonstrations, allowing media to get a first hand experience of this year’s must have Christmas tech.
The attendance was record breaking with 170 attendees from a wide spread of titles, including key national, consumer, tech and online media, a selection of Irish journalists, as well as a collection of key influencers identified by M&C Saatchi PR.
