Sonos, the leader in smart sound systems for the home, has appointed global communications agency, M&C Saatchi PR to lead its communications in the UK, Italy and Australia, following a competitive pitch process.

Determined to bring the brand’s vision to life, M&C Saatchi PR has been appointed as Sonos’ retained agency, following their work on the successful launch of Sonos’ first European concept store in November last year, where the agency was tasked with driving buzz around the store opening, as well as generating awareness of the concept store as a cultural hub and events space.

M&C Saatchi PR’s win will bring an exciting era in cultural communications for the Sonos brand, including future product launches and in-store activity. Leading the account in the UK will be Emeka McQuade, Director, who led the M&C Saatchi PR team that successfully launched Sonos’ first concept store in Europe and also works across the agency’s consumer tech and culture clients including EE, Foot Locker and Red Bull.

Shakira Payne, Sonos PR and Culture Manager said: “We were looking for an agency to join us on our mission to provide better listening experiences and required a partner that not only matched the passion, energy and ambition of the Sonos brand but one that could also help us deliver truly engaging and strategic communications.”

She adds: “In M&C Saatchi PR we found just that; their strategic yet highly creative approach, combined with a team that truly keep their finger on the pulse of pop-culture, makes them the perfect, trusted agency to communicate effectively our amazing offering and stories to both new and existing customers.”

Chris Hides, Global MD and Co-Founder, M&C Saatchi PR comments: “Our win of the Sonos account across three markets is a great testament of our international ambition, blended communications approach, and genuine passion for the music and arts sector. We’re excited to be representing such an innovative brand and are looking forward to helping Sonos achieve its mission.”
